Ingredients
  

  • 1 tbsp  Olive Oil
  • 1 medium  White Onion (Chopped)
  • 1 Clove Garlic (Minced)
  • 1 Large Carrot (Diced)
  • ¾ cup Smoked Ham (diced)
  • 6 cups Water
  • 14 oz Goya Dry Green Split Peas
  • 2.80 oz  Goya Chicken Bouillon
  • 2.11 ounces Goya Sazon (Without Annatto)
  • Salt and Black Pepper (to taste)

Instructions
 

  • Wash and Sort the Goya green split peas.
  • Heat oil in a pan over (medium) heat.
  • Now, add carrot, onion, garlic, and smoked ham to the pan.
  • After five minutes, stir the mixture and cook it.
  • Put 4 cups of water in the pot and heat it on medium-high until it starts boiling.
  • Mix in the Sazon, Goya Peas, and Chicken Bouillon.
  • Lower the heat and stir using a wooden spoon.
  • Allow it to cook for an hour.
  • You can sprinkle some black pepper and salt to suit your liking.
  • Add more hot water if necessary.
  • Serve in individual bowls.
  • Top with cheese or croutons for extra tastiness.
